Comprehensive Plan: Partial Update
On Dec. 31, 2008, the Partial Plan Update to the City of Milton Comprehensive Plan was submitted to the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to initiate the review process between ARC and the Department of Community Affairs (DCA). This plan not only meets the minimum planning standards prescribed for a partial plan update, but it represents for Milton greater local control and self-determination. This document is not the full Comprehensive Plan for the City of Milton. The Partial Plan Update will serve as a "bridge" between the Focus Fulton 2025 and the new plan currently underway.
Work toward the completion of the full plan continues. The full plan includes three sections. The City has completed two, the Community Assessment and Citizen Participation Plan, to the satisfaction of both ARC and DCA. The final section, which is the Community Agenda, is underway and expected to be complete by the end of 2009.
The CPAC will resume meeting this month and several community meetings where citizens can provide input and guidance are planned for the next several months. Please check back in the next few weeks to see the schedule for the upcoming CPAC meetings and the community meetings.
