Update on Visioning
The City of Milton's Community Development Department and the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee hosted a Community Workshop to kick off the final stage of the City's 2008–2028 comprehensive planning process on May 20. The Community Agenda is the implementation strategy and guiding document of the Comprehensive Plan. Approximately 50 residents and property owners attended.
The workshop included a pre-meeting exercise to review the policies. Attendees were asked to review the posted policies and make comments. The meeting then started with a PowerPoint presentation which covered the planning process to date, the purpose of the meeting and the next steps.
The second half of the meeting was an interactive exercise to review, discuss and prioritize the proposed issues and opportunities. Another exercise included a review of the proposed character area maps. The character area map involves a geographic grouping of similar characteristics within Milton. This exercise identified key elements and recommended boundary changes of each proposed area.
At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees were asked to vote on the suggested names of the individual character areas and make new recommendations.
Please review the City Calendar for the upcoming meetings.
